What is the definition of sustainability?
Sustainability is the concept of using resources responsibly today to ensure their long-term availability. It applies equally to human and environmental resources. In an organizational context, sustainability concerns the management of human resources in such a way as to preserve the energy, motivation and commitment of employees, as well as reducing the company’s ecological impact.
In the workplace, sustainability emphasizes the need to develop work practices that foster an environment where employees can thrive over the long term without depleting their mental and physical well-being. It also applies to natural resource management practices, aiming to limit the company’s ecological footprint in order to preserve the environment.
